God's Timing > Mine

Do you ever feel like you are “falling behind” on your plans? “Late” to the milestones others have hit? Single while your friends are engaged? Waiting on a promotion while everyone else has dream jobs? Trying for something that seems to come easily for everyone else? Not where you wanted to be in January of 2022?

In his letter to the church of Galatia, Paul wrote that “When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His son....”

What it must have been like to live in the years before Christ came?...to wonder when the messiah was going to come...to feel as though you’d missed something....

Yet, God waited until the fullness of time, to send Himself to us. If God willed waiting to ensure the perfect time for His appearance and the start of His earthly relationship with His creation, why do we doubt that He has a plan for us? Why do we feel certain that our lives are falling behind or “late”?

Dear friends, the same God who waited to fulfill His promises until the fullness of time had come, will not hesitate to fulfill His promises to you, at the time He has planned. In fact, Paul, the same writer who reminded us of that fullness of time, also reminds us through his letter to the church at Philippi that, “He who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completion on the day of Christ.” And, He will!

Rest easy, tonight, friend. Those dreams? The callings? The things still “left undone”? Leave them to His care, cast your burdens onto Him, and remember that He cares for you. He has not failed you, he is not done with you, and he has never stopped loving you!!!
